WORDS FROM THE CEO
NOX Corporation, a Korean company leading
the global LVT flooring industry
Established in 1994 and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, NOX is a professional flooring company that has been leading LVT innovation worldwide. NOX is a prominent leader in the global LVT flooring industry, represented by its world-class product quality and superior quality management.
Having developed products and sought new market opportunities since its founding, NOX won the $1Million Export Award in 2000, the $100Million Export Award in 2013, and is currently exporting to more than 50 countries. For the first time among global flooring companies, NOX won the “Best of Surfaces 2012 Innovation Award” at Surfaces 2012, one of the top 2 North American exhibitions, and was once again recognized as a world-class company with the “Gold NEOCON Award” at NEOCON 2012. NOX has also been showing a rapid annual growth rate of 20% over the past 5 years, maintaining its market share leader status across developed countries known to demand high quality, such as Japan, Germany and France. Most recently, NOX won the “Gold NEOCON Award” and “Silver NEOCON Award” at NEOCON 2019.
However, NOX did not settle for such achievements and has continued its active search for new market opportunities. The key example would be the launch of premium woven flooring “LOOM+®, LOOM+ has been recognized worldwide for its innovative design and technology. In addition to receiving the German “Red Dot Design Award” in 2014, NOX was the first Korean flooring company to win the “G-Mark” at Japan’s most prestigious Good Design Award. LOOM+ has earned high appraisal at multiple world-renowned design awards, such as the “Grand Prize” at US IDEA 2015, the “Innovation Award” at 2015 DOMOTEX Hannover, the world’s largest flooring fair, and the “Gold NEOCON Award” at NEOCON 2019.
To further accelerate the innovation of LOOM+, NOX recently acquired Hunter Douglas Korea. This acquisition consists of the R&D Center, the domestic sunscreen business, and the Korean manufacturing plant of the world’s largest window blind manufacturer. Through this acquisition, NOX established NOX TEXTERIOR, enabling the application of woven tiles to its unique IVP (Integrated Vertical Production) system, thereby becoming the first in the industry to producep>®” in 2012, followed by eco-friendly PVC-free flooring materials a few years later. In partic completely in-house, from each component to end product. In the coming years, NOX plans to expand its business into the living interior field of woven materials by increasing its LOOM+ production capacity and focusing on developing new woven products and technologies.
On one hand, NOX’s continuous global factory expansion efforts reflect its goal to better serve customers by minimizing the geographical distance. Opening its first US factory in 2015, NOX became the first Korean flooring company to establish a U.S. manufacturing plant. In 2019, NOX US expanded its 1st plant and opened its 2nd plant as well. To further such global expansion, NOX is currently making heavy investments to establish factories in Europe and Southeast Asia as well.
